Our Leaders

RAY JOHNSON
Lead Pastor

Pastor Ray grew up in Jay, Florida where he graduated from Jay High School. After graduating, he worked as an office manager. In 1977, he married his wife, Susan, and not long afterward accepted the call into ministry. Ray and Susan accepted the position as Lead Pastor of Campton in 2010. They passionately embraced the challenge to guide this wonderful church family into the bright future God has for them.

They have led Campton through a number changes with a vision to be INWARDLY STRONG AND OUTWARDLY FOCUSED. If there is one word that would describe this pastor it would be PASSIONATE.

BRANDON & ERICA BOLTON
Children’s Ministry

Brandon and Erica met over 16 years ago and have been happily married since 2002. They have two wonderful children Austin (11) and Emma (7).

Before coming to Campton, they served in various children’s ministries such as Missionettes, Royal Rangers, and Children’s Church. Brandon also served on the Board of their previous church. The Boltons found their home at Campton Assembly in 2014 and then became co-leaders of the Children’s Church Ministry in 2015.

When asked, Brandon and Erica agree that serving in children’s ministry is very rewarding. They enjoy teaching God’s Word to the children at Campton Assembly and look forward to welcoming more boys and girls as the church grows.

GARY & DEB WELSH
Children’s Ministry

Gary and Deb met and married in St. Louis, Missouri in 1991. They have 3 grown children, Jonathan (20), Rebecca and Rachel (18).They committed to living for Christ over 20 years ago at Elm Street Christian Church in Olney, Illinois. Elm Street’s pastor, Keith Krueger, planted the spiritual seeds that took hold and grew within Gary and Deb. They utilize and rely upon these seeds of spiritual truths to this day. God then brought them to Florida where they attended Covenant Community Church (CCC) in Fort Walton Beach for several years.

They were involved with small groups and children’s ministries while attending CCC. The Welsh family joined the youth pastor as CCC planted a church in Crestview which became The View Family Church. There they were actively involved with all aspects of ministry, from cleaning the church, to heading the children’s ministry as well as being active board members.

They have been at Campton Assembly of God since 2015. After becoming members, they became involved in various ministries, including Children’s Church, Adult Sunday School as well as taking their monthly turn at cleaning the church. Of all the ministries they have worked, Gary and Deb say Children’s Ministry is the most rewarding, as they watch the kids grow spiritually over the years. They believe God pours into them as much as they are able to teach and pour into the children those same spiritual seeds that were instilled in them many years ago.
